David Lewis Dillingham's Obituary
Dillingham, David Lewis passed away the morning of October 29, 2020 at this daughter’s home in Fate, TX. David went peacefully in his sleep. David was born October 3, 1939 in Dallas, TX to Cecil Dillingham and Katherine Hargrove.
David was a man of many trades evidenced by his occupations over the course of his lifetime. He served in the Coast Guard, spent many years driving a truck, worked for Christner Industries building/repairing car washes until he finally settled into a career as a hatter at Worth Walden Hat Co in Dallas, TX owned by aunt and uncle, Tommie and Jack Waldrip. After David retired he enjoyed traveling with his fiancé, spending time with his family, and watching his grandchildren grow.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Dillingham; mother, Katherine Patterson; father, Cecil Dillingham; step-mother, Faye Dillingham; and granddaughter, Tiffni Ann Dillingham.
David is survived by his fiancé, Mela Tabada; son, David M. Dillingham; daughter, Tena Hickman; step-son, Arlo Tabada; aunt, Tommie Lee Waldrip; uncle, Jack Waldrip; sister, Jeannie Thompson; brother, Charles Wright; six grandchildren, Tyler Dillingham, Alyssa Dillingham, Cody Dillingham, Blain Hickman, Sarah Tabada, Darwin Tabada; two great-grandchildren, Payton Amaro and Kamden Mote.
The family will be available for visitation at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas on Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 3:30pm – 5:30pm. A graveside service will be held at Restland Memorial Park on Friday, November 6, 2020 at 11:00am.
