Pastor David Cordell Gibbs' Obituary
David Cordell Gibbs of Seagoville, Texas passed away on May 20, 2020 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on May 13, 1946 to parents: Woodrow and Betty (Coppedge) Gibbs in Dallas, Texas. David married Donia Smith on August 20, 1964 and was the Pastor of Cathedral of Life Church and Christian School for over 50 years as well as a business owner. He operated Cliffs Printing #3 and Kristian Printing and also served as Executive Director of the United Christian Fellowship. David also graduated from GHD Bible College with his Doctorate of Divinity and was a member of the Kiwanis Club and was involved in many other community service ventures. He is loved by many he has helped, those who call him Dad and countless church members and friends.
David was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Gibbs; mother, Betty Gibbs and brother, Clifford Gibbs.
He is survived by his wife, Donia Smith Gibbs; daughter, Cynthia (Cyndi) Gibbs Elliott; daughter, Stephanie Gibbs Bailey; son, David C. Gibbs, Jr. and wife, Tammy; sister, Blanca Gibbs McNeal; 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
