David Russell Hickman's Obituary
David (Dave) Russell Hickman was born June 29, 1942 in LaBelle, MO to Hampton and Corinne Hickman, the eldest of three boys. After moving to Texas and graduating from Garland High School, Dave attended Tyler Junior College, playing in the marching band, and later served in the Marine Corp Reserves.Most of all, Dave was the sole provider and caretaker for his kids, Michael and Kimberley, and always did his best to provide a loving, stable home full of laughter. Dave become mother, father and most importantly, friend to his children.Always an avid fisherman, in 2005 Dave moved to his beloved Rockport, TX where his world became fishing, boats, making friends with every town resident and, of course, more fishing. The Rockport years also gave Dave his other pride and joy, as Michael welcomed a daughter, Kathryn Grace, who quickly became a bright spot in Dave’s daily life.In addition to Michael, Kimberley and Kathryn, Dave is survived by his younger brothers, Steve and Lynn.His unendingly positive nature, and easy laugh will be profoundly and deeply missed by all those that knew him.
