David Bruce James' Obituary
David Bruce James, age 70, passed away January 17, 2018. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on March 16, 1947, to Clarence and Naydene James. He came to Dallas via Tampa, Florida in 1960 where he lived the remainder of his life as a proud Texan. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and North Texas State University and earned his law degree from Southern Methodist University. He was a well-respected attorney in Dallas for over 20 years. He married his wife, Lynne Russell, in 1969 at St. Francis Church, where he remained an active member until his death. He loved baseball. One of his fondest memories was playing on the City Championship team in Tampa, Florida when he was 14. His love of baseball continued throughout his life, watching his son Andrew play, coaching BBI youth baseball and being an avid Texas Ranger fan. He loved his family and he loved Texas. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lynne James, daughter Elizabeth Cochran and husband Carter, son Andrew James and wife Taryn, brother Gary James, and grandchildren: Emma, Aidan and Chase James and Dylan and Landon Cochran. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Naydene and his sister, Debbie James. A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis Anglican Church on Monday, January 22 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Francis Anglican Church, 3838 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas TX 75229 or to the Alzheimers Association. He was a faithful servant of God.
