David MacAdam Kane's Obituary
David Kane passed from this life on June 25, 2019. The son of Thomas L. and Florence (Pratt) Kane, Dave was born November 19, 1940, in Tenafly, NJ. He had seven brothers and sisters. After graduating from Tenafly Senior High School in 1958, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in the 82″‘ Airborne from 1959 to 1961.Dave moved to Dallas in the mid-1960’s to pursue professional opportunities and met and married the late Virginia Nelson. They had two daughters, Virginia Elizabeth (“Lisa”) and Suzanne.Dave held a number of executive sales and marketing positions and spent several years with Esselte Pendaflex.A devoted husband and father whose priority was his family, Dave still found time to learn how to play the acoustical and electric guitar and took up golf. He later authored and copyrighted a self-help instructional book for golfers titled The Silent Golfer and in his later years taught his grandsons to play golf and his sons-in-law the basics of acoustical guitar.Dave loved music, specifically that of Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. He enjoyed singing, playing the guitar with his sons-in-law and golf.Preceded in death by Virginia, his wife of 34 years, Dave is survived by two brothers, Thomas L. Kane of Tenafly, NJ and William L. Kane of Port St. Lucie, FL, daughter Lisa Bills and her husband John, daughter Suzanne Marek and her husband Kevin, and two grandsons, Austin Shoemake and Blaine David Bills of Dallas.Services in remembrance of David will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at the Wildwood Chapel, Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
