David Coolidge Kent's Obituary
"But those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary; they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31
David Coolidge Kent passed away April 1, 2025, at the age of 69 in Dallas, Texas. He was born in Asheville, North Carolina in 1955. A true patriot, Daved entered the Air Force in 1977 and proudly served until his retirement in 1999. True to his giving nature, he continued to honor his country by starting a second career at the Veterans Health Administration. He was a dedicated and hard-working public servant until his retirement from the VA in 2021.
David truly knew that it was more blessed to give than to receive. His kindness knew no bounds. He had a heart of gold and never hesitated to offer his help to those who needed it. David was a loving husband, father, brother and Bepaw. His love for his family knew no bounds. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, rug hooking, playing games and puzzles and giving back to other Veterans through his work at the VA. He lived life to the fullest and especially loved spending time with his family and friends.
Although David is gone, he will live in our hearts forever.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy Kent; his children, Melanie Reeves and her husband Zane; Zachary Brown; Briana Brown; grandchildren, Bailey Reeves, Madison Reeves, Zane Reeves III, Benjamin Reeves; sisters, Lorraine Baker, Debbie Aly and Gail Revis.
Preceded in death by parents, Calvin and Evelyn Kent; and brother Jerry.
