David Young Moore's Obituary
David Young Moore was born May 15,1948 in Tyler, Texas and passed away November 8, 2022 in Plano, Texas at the age of 74. David graduated from Bryan Adams High School class of 1966. He attended East Texas State University and was drafted in 1969 into the U.S. Army. David served in the Vietnam War and is a Vietnam Vet. He received an honorable discharge in 1970. He attended Eastfield Junior College after his service and then started his career with the U.S. Postal Service as a Letter Carrier, Union Steward and was on the Route Team Inspection. David made many friends on his route. He never met a stranger. Even his furry friends. David had a soft spot for animals and carried treats for the dogs along his mail route. He had a long career with the Postal Service and retired on May 31, 2013.
In retirement he enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle, talking on the phone to his longtime friends, lunch with his postal friends, working on projects with his sons, getting together with his Saturday friends and he loved family get togethers.
David married Beverly Jean Widders on April 16, 1977. Welcomed two sons, Aaron David Moore in 1980 and Ryan Matthew Moore in 1981.
David was proceeded in death by his father, James L. Moore; mother, LaVerne Baker Moore; brother-in-law, Patrick L. Widders.
David is survived by his wife of 45 years Beverly; children, Aaron D. Moore, Ryan M. Moore; brothers, James D. Moore, Dennis P. Moore; sisters-in-laws, Jennifer B. Woodall and husband Terry of Rockwall, Texas, Linda K. Lucky of Lewisville, TX, Kim Widders of Mesquite, Texas; brother-in-law, Michael D. Widders of Mesquite, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Family will begin to welcome friends for visitation on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 12:00pm - 1:00pm at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at Restland Memorial Park in section Ascension at 1:00pm.
