David Rapp's Obituary
David Mel Rapp (10/12/48-10/9/2011). His great heart gave up, but not before he had shared its love with many hundreds of us. Mel loved most dearly his wife Brenda and son David and daughter-in-law Stacy, yet there was room in his heart for all he met. He mentored those who worked for him in the Dallas, Flower Mound, and Desoto Parks and Recreation departments. He substitute taught after his retirement and the kids and staff adored him. He never lacked for golfing or fishing buddies and made new friends on the course whenever he played. Those whose lives Mel touched are invited to a memorial celebration of his life at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 15 at the First United Methodist Church, 310 Roaring Springs Dr. DeSoto, TX 75115. Following the service, at Mel’s specific request there will be a BBQ and Beer fest at Elks Lodge, 1316 S. Hampton DeSoto, TX 75115. Donations to: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at www.cff.org, or First Tee.
