David Edward Ruiz's Obituary
David (Dave) Edward Ruiz 65, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 22, 2021 in Dallas, TX. Dave was born October 1, 1955 in Washington, D.C., he was the fourth of eight children to George and Vidalina Ruiz.
He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed. Dave grew up in San Antonio, TX. He served in the Navy for twenty years with combined active duty and reserves. He moved to Dallas, TX and joined the Dallas Police Department with thirty-six years combined active and reserves service. He married Anita Perez and they had three children, David, Brittany and Christian. He later remarried Cynthia (Cindy) Parker and was a loving father figure for her three children, Sean, Trace and Gabrielle. He enjoyed serving our Lord in the church, the mission field, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Dave's passion in life was sharing the good news of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ with the world. It was a true blessing to see Dave take to the mission work in Cuba, Even though he was sharing the Gospel in a communist country, he was confident and strong in his faith and was the reason he was there.
His personality made him easily approachable by all that encountered him. The kids there, having no idea that Dave didn't speak Spanish, would come talking to him in spanish. Dave would just smile and listen until they would finally figure out that he did not understand what they were saying. Dave was very serious about why he was there, and that was to share the word with the lost people of Cuba. At the same time he always had a good time and was a pleasure to be around. He was currently planning on traveling to Ecuador in October and will be missed greatly on this trip. I say thank you Dave for being the way you were and the friend you were. You will be missed.
He is survived by his wife, best friend and soulmate Cindy Ruiz of 11 years; children,David and his wife Sara, Brittany and her husband James, and Christian; Sean and his wife Liz, Trace and his wife Alana; grandchildren, Seychelle, Elijah, Josiah and Gabriel; brothers, George Jr. and his wife, Georgina, Joe and his wife Linda, Mike and his wife Mary; sisters, Gladys and her husband Tony, Yvonne and her husbandJere, Veronica and Becky.
