David Schultz's Obituary
We mournfully announce the passing of David Schultz, 79, of Dallas, TX. David passed away on July 22, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with Multiple Myeloma.
David was born to Harry and Flora Schultz, on January 13, 1944, in Salinas, CA. The Schultz family stayed in Salinas, CA for 10 years until relocating to NYC, NY. David attended the Professional Children’s School in Manhattan one year behind Christopher Walken and went on to attend the Juilliard School, pursuing a degree in music.
David’s biggest passion in life was classical music. An avid viola player, he spent countless hours perfecting his ability. David played viola in the Dallas Symphony, a career spanning over 30 years. Before he played for the Dallas Symphony, he had the opportunity to play in Radio City Music Hall. David was an adjunct professor at Dallas College- Eastfield Campus and taught the instruments of both the viola and violin for 17 years.
David married Emma Frances DeShong, on July 27, 1971, in Dallas, TX.
David was preceded in death by his loving wife, Emma Frances. He was also preceded in death by his parents Harry and Flora Schultz and his sisters Virginia Carson and Elizabeth Schultz.
David is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Rachel and Dale Barclift and his first cousin and cousin- in -law Leo and Christine Marshall.
Services will be held at Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243, section Entrance Garden on July 31, 2023, at 10 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Dallas Zoo (https://www.dallaszoo.com/support-the-zoo/donate-to-the-zoo/), an organization David felt strongly about.
