David Lee Simmons was born on July 18, 1941 in Dallas, Texas and passed away October 21, 2016 in Waco, Texas. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Dixie and Donna; parents, Olga and Lee Simmons. He is survived by his wife, Frances Simmons; daughters, Glenda and Renda; sons, Bruce and Terry; grandchildren: Misty, Brandon, Bo Blake, Buddy, Lisa, Jessica, Bailey, Ana, Torina and Teri; great-grandchildren: Jade, Payton, Dustin, Jax, Addison, Avery, Kaitlin, Meagan, Briggs, Adalyn, Raine, James, Michelle, Manford, Skyler, Jace, Mackenzie, Millie and Breanna; great great grandchild: Kassy. David loved the Baylor Bears, traveling, spending time with family, working on the computer, taking care of the yard, working outdoors. His favorite past time Baylor football and Lady Bears games. He was a die-hard Republican. The visitation for David Simmons will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, October 28, 2016, at Restland Funeral Home. The service for David will be held at 12:30 PM, Saturday, October 29, 2016, in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Frances Simmons for funeral expenses. Pallbearers: Brandon Sydnor, Terry Redmon, Bruce Redmon, James “Bo” Goodin and Blake Sydnor. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
