I remember David from end of our college days in Austin to starting his own business Ziehm Woodworks in Garland, TX and doing alot of work making AMX control panel enclosures in the early days.
David will truly be missed by his numerous friends. He was a friend of my son Paul who was murdered in a carjacking attempt in 1985 but David always kept in touch with me. As we visited through the years and shared memories of those great times in their younger days, David always left me feeling better. That that was the kind of man he was. Many times he painted and repaired things around my home that Paul would have done if he had been alive. I moved to another home and the roof leaked and David repaired the roof and would not accept any payment. He was really a giving soul. The absence of his ready smile, great hugs and willingness to help others is a great loss to those of us in his great circle of friends. God's comfort to his family in the coming days of grief. Remember ~ we loved him too. Thomas Ann Hines
I've known David a little over 2 years, but it seems longer. In that time I found him to be a great neighbor, but more than that a wonderful friend. He was a caring and giving person. He was there for anyone who needed him. I just wish he would have taken better care of himself. He will be missed by many, especially me. G-D BLESS his family, I will add them to my prayers. My Mom Marguerite and I have know David since the AMX days. He was very close to mom. I gave him the white German Shepherd Berlin that he loved! David will be missed. Now he is with his Mom and suffering no more. God bless to his two brothers that survived him. Love, hugs and Prayers, Jill Self
