David Joe Thomas' Obituary
David Joe Thomas, age 77, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, in Comanche, Texas. He was born on April 14, 1948, in Dallas, Texas, to his loving parents, Doris June Thomas and Truman Leon Thomas, who preceded him in death.
David proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, he dedicated much of his career to the Fire Department for the City of Plano, where he later retired after many years of service.
David enjoyed staying active and had a passion for sports. He spent time as a baseball umpire; he enjoyed bowling and golfing throughout his life.
He is survived by his brother, Kerry Thomas; his son, Michael Thomas; his daughter, Tonya Blevins; and his beloved grandchildren.
A memorial service honoring David’s life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Restland Funeral Home in the Memorial Chapel.
David will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his community, and the many lives he touched throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
