David Wayne Walker's Obituary
David Wayne Walker, 68, of Prosper, TX passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday morning, January 23, 2011. Wayne was born in Wichita, KS on November 18, 1942 to Aubrey and Kathryn Walker. He was a proud graduate of Wichita’s Southeast High School. He has two surviving sons from his first marriage, David of Navarre, FL and Kevin of Leawood, KS. His second union was to his surviving wife of 31 years, Karla Kessen Chance, with whom he has two surviving sons; Trent of Mount Pleasant SC, and Trey of Prosper, TX. He is also survived by his mother Kathryn, his sister Marilyn Burnell, his brother John Walker, and his daughters-in-law Lauren Walker and Nicole Martin Walker. Wayne enjoyed an illustrious business career in sales, commercial real estate, marketing, and advertising promotions with Henry’s Inc., Xerox Corp., Transamerica Investment Properties and in multiple Pizza Hut Franchise groups. He held various key Pizza Hut franchisee field marketing positions in Kansas, Florida, Georgia and Texas. In January 2000 he was appointed to Pizza Hut’s corporate offices in Dallas to oversee advertising co-ops for franchisees, track competitor’s activities, select new product test markets, and to plan and execute the company-sponsored Annual National Convention for Franchisees and Suppliers. After 32 years of exemplary service, he retired from Pizza Hut in March 2007. Wayne was a devoted husband and proud father of his four sons. He was a true gentleman and a loyal friend to all. Funeral mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Frisco, TX on Friday January 28th, at 11:00AM. A memorial service will be held at Lakeview Mausoleum, 12100 E 13th Street North, Wichita, KS on Sunday, January 30th at 2:00PM.
