Kelly Whitfill & I were classmates St. Bernard’s School in Dallas. We were also football teammates. Kelly played fullback while I played offensive and defensive line. We became fast friends, having many overnights at our house, and at I at his. I still wonder why the Whitfill’s house had clear plastic on the living room furniture. Also, why did Kelly’s mom think I reminded her of Milton Berle?Kelly was one of the reasons it was hard to move from Dallas to Denver. I had watched him court you, Debbie, in 8th grade. He was smitten, there was no doubt. He came to visit occasionally in Denver, which was a treat. He loved the mountains. So I’m not surprised in reading his obituary, that he continued the love of his surroundings.I know from reading his lovely obituary that he continued to be a fine person… husband, father, brother, friend. My sister, Patty (Johnson) Parker sent Kelly’s notice in the Dallas Morning News to me. I feel a great loss for there is a special place in my heart for him. You all will be in our thoughts and prayers.
