Davis Ray Massey's Obituary
Davis Ray Massey passed away on January 30th, 2024 in Carrollton, Texas. He was born in Collin County on August 22nd, 1921 as the fourth child of Wilburn G. Massey and Minnie Lee Jones. After finishing school in the 8th grade, he went to work in farming before joining the United States Army in 1943. During his time in the Army, he progressed into the role of a Sergeant with Company E in the 42nd Infantry Division, Rainbow Division until he was honorably discharged in March of 1964. His hard work was rewarded by receiving several merits and metals, including two Bronze Stars. Upon his return home, he married the love of his life, Ida Lee Tate in 1947. Shortly after, Ida and Davis welcomed their beautiful daughter, Patsy Lee Clark Massey on August 27th, 1948.
Davis is preceded in death by his parents, Gaty and Minnie Massey; his loving wife, Ida Lee Tate Massey; his daughter, Patsy Lee Massey Clark; brothers; Vernon Carl and Herbert Neeland; and his sisters; Ruby Jeanette, Dorothy Faye, and Mida Elizabeth.
He is survived by his granddaughter, Laurie Hughes; grandson, Les Cain; great-grandson, Nick Cain; great-granddaughter, Mailee Cain; and great-great-granddaughter, Olivia Mora-Cain.
