Dayton Kenneth McClellan's Obituary
MCCLELLAN, DAYTON KENNETH Affectionately known as Ken, Dayton Kenneth McClellan left this world on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 to be with his Lord in heaven after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Ken was known for his carir.g, gentle spirit and his devotion to his family. He was born on January 19, 1942 to Wilma and Dayton McClellan in Gadsden, Alabama. When he was 10 years old his family moved to Hughes Springs, Texas. At 21 he moved to the Dallas area, eventually settling in Garland. Ken was a machinist by trade and in 1980 started KM Machine and Manufacturing in Garland. For 24 years he and his wife Mary worked hand in hand to sustain a successful business. Ken is survived by his mother Wilma McClellan of Hughes Springs, his devoted wife Mary, his two precious daughters Delane Richmond of Woodland Park, Colorado, and Krista Ledbetter of Garland, and Mary’s two loving children William Taylor and Kathy Taylor both of Garland. He is also survived by his grandchildren: David Vernon, Kenny Richmond, Trent Ledbetter, Kellie Richmond, and William Taylor; as well as his sons-in-law: Mike Richmond and Lance Ledbettcr and daughter-in-law, Jamie Taylor. His brothers are Dennis McClellan of Pasadena, Texas and Thomas McClellan of Paris, Texas. His sister is Joan Ferlito of Bossier City, Louisiana. Nick Ferlito, Janet McClellan, and Pam McClellan are his in-laws. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends that he held close to his heart. Ken will be cremated at Restland Funeral Home. A memorial service honoring his life will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Garland. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to your favorite charity in his name. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
