Deanna Joy Nimmo's Obituary
Deanna Joy Nimmo, resident of Plano, Texas, passed away on July 18, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born on July 26, 1938, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, to Roy Jesse Henness and Ruth Ellen (Brooks) Henness.
Deanna had a lifelong love of reading, especially British mystery novels. She was also a published author and enjoyed writing articles for the Carrollton senior newsletter. As a member of a local writer's group, she found joy in sharing stories and connecting with others through writing. She enjoyed working on Sudoku puzzles and had a strong interest in family history and genealogy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Neil Nimmo, whom she married in 1954, along with her parents, Roy and Ruth Henness, her brothers Jimmy and Gary "Tip" Henness and her sister Beverly Henness-Fry.
Deanna leaves behind to cherish her memory son Richard Nimmo and his partner Mary Brogan; son Roy Scott Nimmo; daughter Cindy Green and husband Vince Green; and daughter Christina Gary and husband Richard Gary, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, just too many to count!
A memorial service will be held beginning at 1:00 PM on August 23, 2025, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Wichita, Kansas.
