Debbie Pyle Stevens' Obituary
Debbie Pyle Stevens, age 63, passed away peacefully December 24, 2018 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born on November 15, 1955 in Dallas, Texas to Noel Curtis Pyle and Betty Sue Pyle. She married the love of her life, John Marshall Stevens on June 8, 1974, and they settled into their first home in Lancaster, Texas where they raised their three children; Stacy, Shane, and Jarrod.Debbie was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandma first and foremost. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma. Her grandkids were her heart and joy.She was very proud of her family and was excited to become a “Grandma” to her 8 grandkids. Debbie loved holidays, and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She would spend hours preparing surprises and gifts for her grandkids.Debbie has always been a kid at heart! She loved her candies, some of her favorites were red gummy bears, banana laffy taffy, and peanut butter bars. Some of her favorite foods were fried chicken, fish & chips, chicken strips, and french fries. She also loved hamburgers with mustard and pickles only, but it had to be very well done or what some would call burnt and crispy. She loved real sweet tea and real Dr Pepper with peanuts. Her favorite dessert was chocolate meringue pie.She enjoyed taking both short and long road trips and her feet would always be propped up on the dashboard or with one foot out the window. She enjoyed watching television, and always had a favorite cozy chair. She had many other passions including her passion for photography, collections of magnets, clowns, and coca cola memorabilia. She enjoyed nature and watching the grandkids play.Debbie is survived by her husband John Marshall Stevens, father and wife Noel Curtis Pyle & Johnnie, daughter and husband Stacy & Shane Johnston, son and wife Shane & Angela Stevens, son and wife Jarrod & Christi Stevens, grandson Trey Stevens, grandson Caleb Stevens, grandson Trevor Johnston, granddaughter Haylee Jo Johnston, granddaughter Jayden Brooke Johnston, grandson Kyler Stevens, granddaughter Ava Stevens, grandson Jaxon Stevens, sister and husband Linda and Robert Faulkner, sister Donna Spangler. She is also survived by loving in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends. She loved and cherished her family and friends deeply.Debbie was preceded in death by her mother Betty Sue Pyle, her sister and husband Connie & Bobby Smith, and her nephew Rocky Smithson Jr.Please join us in celebrating her life on Saturday morning January 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in The Memorial Chapel at Restland, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243.
