Deborah Ann Storms' Obituary
Deborah Cannon Storms, beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016 after courageously battling cancer. Debbie was born in McAlester, Oklahoma on June 25, 1953 to Lawrence and Marjorie Cannon. She was raised in Norman, Oklahoma, graduated from Norman High School in 1971, and received her Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Oklahoma in 1975. She met her future husband Clark Storms in the 5th grade, and after re-connecting at their 10th high school reunion, they were married on March 6, 1982 in Norman, Oklahoma. Clark and Debbie moved to Richardson, Texas later that year, where their sons, Jonathan and Jeffrey were born in 1984 and 1987, respectively. Debbie was a proud, incredible mother who regularly volunteered for various school and extracurricular functions throughout the years. In 2001, Debbie began volunteering at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County, and she continued to work there for the next fifteen years. Debbie is survived by her husband Clark, her sons Jonathan and Jeffrey, her daughters-in-law Katie and Rebecca, her brother Patrick, her mother Marjorie, and Marjorie’s companion James Pratt. She will be sorely missed and her memory will always be cherished. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas at 2:30 PM. A gathering will also be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation in her honor to the Sarcoma Foundation of America (http://www.curesarcoma.org/) or to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County (http://www.caccollincounty.org/ Funeral arrangements have been entrusted into Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
