Deborah "Debbie" Diann James' Obituary
Our mother, Deborah Diann James “Debbie”, 69, born in Dallas, TX gained her wings on February 10, 2024.
Mom was a waitress for over 30 years. She went by “D.D.” with her customers and coworkers and was well known for her excellent service and her southern hospitality.
She never met a stranger and was a champion for the underdog, always wanting to help in whatever way she could. Mom was also an independent woman who didn’t shy away from speaking up. She encouraged us to use our voice and advocate for ourselves. Her hobbies included gardening and antiquing, and she loved spending time with her beloved dog, Abbey, who was always by her side.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Barry James and her father, James Cannon Sr.
She is survived by her children, Stephanie Cherry (Kenneth), Kristie Gonzales, and Joe Gonzales (Diana), her mother, Virginia R. Dominguez (Felix), and her brothers, James Cannon Jr. (Kristi) and Danny Dominguez (Latressa) along with her 11 grandchildren Geneva, Alyssa, Moses, Nelda, Roman, Cecilia, April, Jennifer, Emily, Kielen, Isaiah, and 14 great-grandchildren Kaya, Mia, Alonni, Teanna, Somara, Adrian, Joanna, Analeigh, JJ, Leo, Kielan, Aria, Zendaya, Deejay, and her niece Jessica.
