Deborah Kay Harris' Obituary
Deborah Kay Harris was born November 5, 1951 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Harold Gene Harris and Ruth Vera (Reddin) Harris. Deborah lived in Anadarko, Oklahoma for most of her younger life where she also attended elementary school. By her middle school years, the family moved to the Dallas, Texas area where Deborah then lived most of her adult life. Deborah’s first professional career was with Kemper Insurance Company. After decades of working in the insurance industry, Deborah decided a career change was in order, and she enrolled in nursing school at Trinity Valley Community College. Deborah proudly became a Registered Nurse in July 1994. She began her nursing career at Terrell State Hospital where she learned she had a great love for psychiatric nursing. Deborah also had a deep love for God, her family, and her friends. Deborah is survived by her son, Donald Upchurch and his wife Heather, daughter, Stephanie Paul, 4 grandchildren Courtney Dahi and her husband Brian, Blake Freeman and his wife Jessica, Ryan Paul and his wife Angela, Cameron Paul and his fiancé Hallie Smith, and 3 great-grandchildren, Bennett, Sydney, and Olivia. Deborah is preceded in death by both of her parents, son-in-law, Lee Paul, and grandson, Jerami Clary.
A come and go Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 4 from 1 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the Memorial Auditorium at Christian Care Communities located at 1000 Wiggins Parkway, Mesquite, TX, 75150.
