Born on July 5, 1950, in Whitney, TX, Deborah was the 2nd child of George Woodard House and Estelle Venure (Roberson) House. From an early age, she exhibited a compassionate nature and a genuine desire to help others and positively impact the world around her. Deby’s warm and welcoming spirit and ‘larger than life’ personality drew others to her, and she effortlessly formed lasting friendships with those fortunate enough to know her-If you were ever friends with Deby, you had a friend for life.
Deby attended Aurora High School in Aurora, IL, where she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Richardson. Deby and Bob married on April 13, 1969 and went on to enjoy 54 years of marriage. Through life's ups and downs, they stood side by side, facing every challenge together with strength and fortitude. Their love was one to be admired and a testament to the power of commitment, understanding, and unwavering support.
Deby's proudest accomplishment in life was her role as a mother and grandmother. She poured her heart and soul into raising her five children, instilling in them the values of compassion, resilience, and the importance of family. She pushed them to challenge themselves, seek new adventures and maximize every opportunity. Her love knew no bounds, and she was always front and center to support and encourage her children in every endeavor they pursued. She embraced her role as a mother with boundless enthusiasm and energy, rarely missing any of their countless games, performances, or special events. As a grandmother, Deby was a constant source of love and warmth to her 8 grandchildren. Whether it was a sleepover with ‘Granna DeeBee’, shopping together, cheering them on at their various activities, or simply offering a listening ear, her presence always brought comfort, joy, and laughter to their lives.
In addition, Deby’s loving nature poured over into the animal kingdom, with her love and passion for rescuing and fostering stray animals. She opened her heart and home to countless four-legged friends and worked tirelessly to provide them with the love, care, and second chances they deserved.
Above all, Deby will be remembered for her kind and compassionate heart, her never- ending love for her family, and her ability to shine light into the lives of others. Her infectious laughter, big personality, and radiant smile brightened even the darkest days, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. While we mourn the loss of Deby, we also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the countless memories we created with her. In our sorrow, may we find solace in the profound impact she had on our lives. May her soul rest in eternal peace, knowing she made the world a better place.
