Dee Johnson's Obituary
Dolores (Dee) Tollefsen was born on January 25th, 1930 in Baraga, Michigan to Irving and Mary Solberg Tollefsen and entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 17th, 2017 at her home. She graduated from L’Anse High School in Michigan in 1947. Dee moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she studied and became a beautician. She met her future husband Jack in Minneapolis. They married on July 12th, 1953 in L’Anse, Michigan. They traveled the world together while Jack served in the United States Air Force for 31 years. They returned to live in Richardson Texas in 1977. Jack and Dee had three beautiful girls Kris, Cheryl and Julie. They were blessed with two beautiful granddaughters Emily and Megan Grantham who they loved watching grow into young ladies with kindness and the love of Jesus in their hearts. Dee was a member of, St. Luke’s Lutheran Church where she was active in Sunday school, Bible study, the church choir, and served in the Stephen Ministry. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star. She volunteered for the Red Cross for several years at various military hospitals. She was active in other organizations such as VASA, TOPS and the Girl Scouts of America. She was a loving mother, homemaker and an excellent cook who enjoyed cooking meals and baking for her family. She loved spending the summer on the shores of Lake Superior in the piney woods where she would relax and spend hours reading the books in her Dad’s book collection. She was a Dallas Cowboy fan and watched them play from the 70’s to the present. She had a great sense of humor and was always goofing around with her granddaughters when they visited her in McKinney. She will be fondly remembered and missed by her family who will carry her in their hearts forever. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home. Church service for Dee will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 21, 2017 at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Richardson at 1210 Beltline Road, Richardson, Texas.
