Delfina Pena Sierra's Obituary
Delfina “Choja” Sierra, 77, passed away on February 10, 2021 in Dallas, Texas. She was born on February 17, 1943 to Ramon “Papa Mon” Sierra and Christina “Mama Tina” Sierra in Salaices, Chihuahua, Mexico. She had 10 brothers and sisters. Her siblings were scattered across the US and Mexico. She would make time to visit her siblings and extended family as often as she could. When Delfina was a young adult she immigrated to the United States with 2 children to make a better life for her family. She lived in California but eventually made her way to Texas where she lived the rest of her life.
She was a resident of Crandall, Texas. She loved living out in the country away from the city life. She loved to garden and be outside with her plants. She had an exceptional green thumb! She was an amazing seamstress and was still actively sewing at the end of her life. She sewed many important garments throughout her lifetime for friends and family, including quinceañera dresses, formal dresses and costumes for special occasions. She loved having a good time and attended many events and enjoyed spending time with her friends at the senior citizen center and taking trips to the casinos with them.
Above anything else she loved spending time with her grandkids and especially with her great grandkids. She is survived by her ever expanding family. She has four children: Javier Ramirez, Rosie Briones, George Cardenas and Eric Applegate. She had 14 grandkids and 13 great grandkids whom she loved with all her heart and who would refer to her as “Grandma Fina”. She was loved by many, including her family and friends and will be missed dearly. Her services will be held at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, TX. Her viewing will be held Sunday February 28, 2021 at 2:30. Funeral will be Monday March 1, 2021 at 2:30pm.
