Mrs. Delia Aurora DeGaetano's Obituary
We are sad to announce the passing of our dear mother Delia A. DeGaetano at the age of 81. 9/25/1941 - 12/26/22. Delia passed away at her home in Lewisville, Texas surrounded by her loved ones after a battle with lung cancer. She exceeded all expectations and fought until the end. We will miss her very much.
She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her. She had many friends and was a well-loved member of the community in Wantagh, NY and Lewisville, TX.
Delia was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. She was raised between Puerto Rico; Ann Arbor, Michigan; and Brooklyn, New York.
Her parents were Pablo Tirado and Maria Torres. Delia was the middle child. Delia had wonderful siblings Paul 83 and his wife Elba and their four daughters Marta, Elbita, Paula and Erica; her sister Doris 42 (Deceased) and son John and Marc; and a half sister, Alicia Banks 67.
Delia is survived by her husband Natale DeGaetano, her three sons Michael (Donna Marie) DeGaetano-Rich,61; Matthew (Ana Lucia) DeGaetano, 55; and Geno (Rosie) DeGaetano,43. Delia and Nat also have four grandchildren. Joseph Michael 25, Anthony Natale 11, Gianna Isabella 6, and Nicolas Vincent 4.
Delia was a successful District Manager for the Avon Corporation. She was welcomed into the “Circle of Excellence '' for many years as one of the top producing managers in the United States. Avon flew her and the other top managers around the world to honor their success.
For 33 years, Delia and Nat raised their three sons in Wantagh and then moved to Lewisville, Texas in 2006.
Delia was a force to be reckoned with. She would not accept “you can’t do that”, she had the “will” to exceed all expectations. She was a phenomenal mother and provided a home for her sons to be successful adult men.
Memorial service will be Thursday January 5th at 3:30 pm at the Restland Funeral Home Wildwood Chapel, Thursday, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, Texas.
Ash spreading ceremony will be held in New York in the spring of 2023.
