Della Jane Carpenter's Obituary
Della Jane Carpenter of Dallas, Texas passed away on February 4, 2021. She was born on June 26, 1929 in Waynesville, Missouri, the only child of Evelyn and Don Blackwell.
She married Joe Mac Carpenter on October 29, 1949 and two daughters were born from that union. Della was a longtime resident of Dallas and she and her husband of 39 years formed a commercial contracting company in 1955. She remained active in the company for many years and served as an officer until 1988 when her husband preceded her in death.
Della was an animated and gregarious personality. She enjoyed playing bridge, the sports of horse racing and football, traveling the world, and singing and dancing to her favorite showtunes. In addition, she was an active member of numerous women’s organizations in the Dallas community for many years.
Della is predeceased by daughter, Stephanie Gail Carpenter, and survived by daughter, Angela Michelle Pittman, granddaughter, Kristin Michelle Ortega, and great-granddaughters, Aubrey Michelle Ortega and Addison Jane Ortega.
A private internment will be held at Restland Memorial Park of Dallas.
