Deloris Eulaine Lohmann's Obituary
Deloris Eulaine Lohmann, of Richardson, Texas, a cherished mother and grandmother, peacefully passed away the morning of November 18, 2024, at the remarkable age of 99.
Born on March 12, 1925, in Ramona, South Dakota, Deloris grew up on a farm where she learned the value of hard work and developed a deep love for her family. Those who knew her saw her as a pillar of strength, always willing to lend a helping hand.
Deloris married the love of her life, Harold (Hal) Lohmann, on April 27, 1945, making their first homes in Cedarburg, WI, then Madison, SD, and then in Sioux Falls, SD. In 1960, Hal’s job brought them to the Dallas area where they eventually settled in Richardson, TX. After Hal’s passing in 1987, Deloris remained totally devoted to him and to their marriage, a faithful and loving wife forever. That same sense of commitment was present in every aspect of her life, as evidenced in her 54 plus years working for Tom Thumb grocery stores where she made many friends with co-workers and customers alike.
Deloris is survived by her three children: daughter Sidney Barnett and husband, Lynn, of Garland, Texas; son Geoffrey Lohmann and wife, Anna, of Garland, Texas; and son Rocky Lohmann of Sophia, West Virginia. She is also survived by grandchildren Brandon Barnett and wife, Lori, of Irving, TX; Joshua Barnett and fiancé, Pa’Shun Durand, of Garland, TX; Suzanne Spear and husband, Jamie, of Round Rock, TX; Brook Lohmann and wife, Maria, of Sachse, TX; Alex Lohmann and wife, Jennifer, of Waxahachie, TX; and Sarah Hataway and husband, Christopher, of Lavon, TX, as well as 12 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She delighted in every moment spent with them, finding immeasurable joy in watching them grow.
Deloris is reunited in Heaven with her parents, Roy and Ruth Witt, her sister Mavis Frager and her beloved husband, Hal.
Deloris will be remembered for her unwavering love, boundless patience, and her ability to listen with an open heart. Her kindness and support were a constant source of comfort and strength to all who knew her, and she possessed a rare grace that touched everyone she encountered.
A memorial service to celebrate Deloris’ life will be held in Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. or to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Garland, TX.
Though Deloris is no longer with us, her spirit and memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and grace will continue to inspire and guide her family.
