Delphine June Williams' Obituary
Williams, Delphine June born on November 29, 1930, in Kansas City, Missouri, died peacefully on December 30, 2017. She was a much adored and devoted wife and mother. June was married to Joseph Harrison Williams for 58 years. They met at the University of Missouri where she received her Bachelor of Science in Education degree and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. June and Joe were a happy couple that loved to entertain friends and travel together.She taught primary education for many years and loved teaching children. She was very social and involved in many book clubs and women’s clubs and was a former President of the Richardson’s Women’s Club and a devoted alumna of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She loved to cook and entertain in her home and was always trying out new recipes for her family and friends. She was also a good friend, always taking dinners to sick friends and family. She was a devoted mother who loved spending time with her two daughters, Kay and Carolyn. She was also a devoted grandmother to her two grandsons, Harrison and Dylan, whom she loved dearly. Her faith in God gave her the strength and will to survive two serious bouts of cancer. She was a beautiful and positive woman that inspired her friends and family with her strength and generosity.As a young girl, she loved to ride horses on her father and mother’s farm and she loved to dance and sing and loved the theatre. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 5th at 3:00 p.m. at St. Barnabus Presbyterian Church in Richardson, Texas. June is survived by her daughters- Kay Williams Barber, Carolyn Williams Rayner, her two grandchildren, Harrison and Dylan Rayner, her sister, Beverly Springmeyer, her two nephews, Craig and Jeff Springmeyer, her cousin, Margie Medlin and her son-in-law, Dave Barber. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Barnabus Presbyterian Church, Richardson, Texas. She will be ever in our hearts.
