Denise K Williams' Obituary
Denise Leigh (Kilmer) Williams, 66, passed away July 26, 2022, after a brave battle with cancer, in Carrollton TX. She will be remembered as a thoughtful, kind, giving soul to all who knew her.
Denise was born March 19, 1956 in Poughkeepsie NY, graduating from Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park NY, in 1974. Soon thereafter, she began working for Liberty Mutual Insurance. Denise moved to Dallas TX in 1977, near her older brother Doug Kilmer, where she continued her career with Liberty Mutual, retiring in 2018 after 43 years. Soon after moving to Dallas, Denise met her one true love and lifelong partner, Ronald W. Williams. They married in 1989 and would have been married 33 years in September. Denise was a champion horse show jumper in her youth, and her love of horses continued throughout her life, culminating in volunteering with Amy’s Wish with Wings, a charitable organization in Southlake TX that provides Equine Assisted Services to children with special needs. Besides horses, Denise enjoyed cooking, crafting, spoiling a lifetime of cats, and traveling with her best friend of almost 45 years, Nancy (Blair) Schneider. Denise loved getting back to her roots and visiting with her mother Virginia (Gynne) Kilmer and her younger brother Dean Rogers, both of Salt Point NY. Besides her husband Ronnie, mother Gynne, and brothers Doug (Debi) and Dean, Denise is survived by her younger brother Brian (JoAnn) Kilmer, of Jacksonville FL, and her beloved nephew Danny Kilmer. She adored her sister-in-law Shari McMahon (Terry, and son Matt) of Bee Cave TX, two stepdaughters, Jennifer (Matt) Jennings, of Waxahachie TX, and Candice (Billy) Yinger, of Mansfield TX, step-niece Amy Sebastian, and eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Oscar A. Kilmer, and sister-in-law Darla Sebastian. Denise was supported by a wonderful Cancer Support Team of family and friends, and especially from the Poughkeepsie area, including Cheryl Every, Charlene Rosell-Rosenderry and Tom Hart; and in Carrollton, Vickie Conway, Sandy Williams, Bob Helton, and Shannon and Richard Barnes. Services will be private. Donations may be made to Operation Kindness, which operates a lifesaving Animal Shelter
