Dennis L Davis' Obituary
Dennis Lee Davis, 77 of Richardson, Texas was born July 13, 1945 to James and Dorothy Davis, passed away March 13, 2023.
He was married to Florence Eleanor Brown for 29 years. They married April 16, 1966, in Springfield, Illinois.
Denny retired from AT&T in October of 2007 after working with the company for 43 years as a telephone technician. He started with Illinois Bell until he and Flo moved to Texas. He transferred to Southwestern Bell and then transitioned with the company to AT&T.
Denny was a USSA softball umpire and could be seen many a weeknight at Huffines Park umpiring men’s, women’s, and coed leagues. He and Flo played coed softball together and bowled. He loved motorcycle racing and started on the flat track when he was younger, then went on to top fuel drag bike racing. In his older years, he raced Harley roadsters and just recently returned to the flat track in the fall.
Denny served in the Air Force from August 1, 1967 until November 16, 1971. He served in the Vietnam War as a Sergeant.
He is preceded in death by: his wife, Flo; children Cheryl Ann, Bartholomew Eugene, and Patrick Wayne; and his parents James Edwin and Dorothy Mae Davis.
Denny is survived by: children Michael Dwayne Davis, Michelle Lee Davis (Richard), and Patricia Jo Oosahwee (Preston); grandchildren Kaitlin, Tristan, Alexa, Matthew, Lauren, Emily, Jacob, Ryan, Taetyn, and Dwalyn; sister, Susan Vizioli (Gary); and nephews Aaron Mize (Brooke) and Kevin Mize.
An inurnment will take place at 11:00AM on Friday, May 12, 2023, in the Court of Hope at Restland Memorial Park. Please see the map in the photo gallery for exact location. A reception at Mr. Davis' residence will commence following the inurnment.
