Dennis Lee Patrick's Obituary
Dennis L. Patrick, a beloved husband, dad, mentor and friend, died on November 9th, 2020 at his home in Dallas, Texas. Born on September 22nd, 1958 to Gloria and Phillip Patrick. Dennis was a Texan by birth and by choice. He attended Sweeny High School, before going off to Texas A&M for his bachelor’s degree (1981) and for his Master of Architecture (1983).
Over his 37-year career he put his heart and soul into building, designing and overseeing the creation of buildings that inspire. From hospitals, airports, laboratories, data centers, universities and prisons, to working on NASA’s Johnson Space Center. He was a renaissance man—a highly-skilled architect, a music and film aficionado, a historian, a story-teller, a man of faith, a dedicated volunteer—who treasured knowledge not simply to collect it, but to share it with others.
In 1987 he married Anne, an IT specialist and artist, who was the love of his life and his partner for 33 years. Together they had, Elizabeth, his pride and joy. This was his most cherished role, that of a family man, a strong pillar of unconditional love and support. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gloria and Phillip. He is survived by his wife, Anne, his daughter, Elizabeth, and his sister, Kim Joost.
