Dewey Witt Stark Jr.'s Obituary
Stark, Dewey of Dallas, Texas, passed away July 22, 2013. Born October 19, 1928, in Bearden, Arkansas, he graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in 1950. He then served in Germany for two years as a first Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He returned home and graduated from the University of Arkansas law school in 1956. After law school, he married the love of his life, Donna, and they moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he served as Assistant City attorney and had a private law practice for a number of years. In 1975, he was appointed as an Administrative Law Judge with the federal government and he served in that capacity in Dallas, Texas, until his retirement in 2005. His selfless and devoted love for his family was second only to his deep faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He served for many years as a Bible teacher and as a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Tulsa and the First Baptist Church of Dallas. Often referred to as “the best man I have ever known,” he is survived by his wife, Donna Sullivan Stark; daughter and son-in-law, Dona and Bill Bush of Dallas; daughter and son-in-law, Molly and Scott Taylor of Dallas; five grandchildren, Caleb Bush, Molly Bush, Libby Bush, Hudson Taylor, and Joshua Taylor; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Rena Stark; brother and sister-in-law, Harrell and Marilynn Stark; and many other beloved family members. He was preceded in death by his infant son, John Bell Stark, and parents, Dewey W. Stark, Sr. and Zora Elizabeth Stark. Visitation will be Thursday, July 25, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home. Following a family burial on Friday morning at DFW National Cemetary, there will be a Memorial Celebration at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013, in the Truett Chapel at First Baptist Church, Dallas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chinese Ministry at First Baptist Church, Dallas; Young Life, North Central Texas, or the Covenant School of Dallas.
