Dr. Robert Dewey Londeree's Obituary
Dr. Robert D. Londeree, Jr., passed away peacefully in his home on December 2nd, 2016. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and a true gentleman. Bob was born in Charleston, West Virginia on October 25th, 1924 to Robert and Corda Londeree. Bob married Alice Spiker, his college sweetheart and they were married for 60 years before Alice passed in 2008. After Alice’s death, he was lucky to reconnect with Pat Wessendorff and they were married in April of 2011. He is survived by his wife, Pat Wessendorff-Londeree, daughters Anne Londeree, Lynn Ayres (Bill), Patricia Londeree and son Robert D. Londeree, III (Kathy), six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Bob attended dental school at the University of Pittsburgh and was a dentist in the Korean War prior to specializing in Oral Surgery. Bob received many awards and recognition for his excellence in the field of dentistry. In addition to his private practice he was on the faculty at Southwestern Medical School, Baylor University Dental College, and St. Paul’s Hospital where he was appointed the chief for many years. Bob was a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy (International Honor Dental Organization) and past president of the Dallas County Dental Society. He was a member of the International College of Dentists as well as the American College of Dentists. Bob was also an avid photographer and traveler. He won numerous awards for his excellent images of wildlife taken all over the world. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 6th from 6-8PM at Restland Funeral Home 13005 Greenville Avenue. The memorial service will be held at 2 PM on December 7th at Highland Park United Methodist Church in the Cox Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Operation Kindness or the charity of your choice.
