She held my hand and supported me when I needed it. I lost my very first jury case and she and Mike were my opponents! I learned the lesson that lawyers will be there for you even after your clients are not. (I must admit my client was wonderful about the loss - which only made me feel worse). She was one of the most kind and courageous women I have met. It was my honor and privilege to know her and her husband. I will always continue to think of her often and with fond memories. To the Friedman family - my VERY deepest condolences. Diana was a awesome, professional, polite, intelligent, caring, beautiful, wonderful, well dressed - very well dressed :-) , salt-of-the-earth, icon - and these adjectives do not even come close to doing her justice. I considered it a PRIVILEGE to be a part of her life's journey - i will NEVER forget her smile and her laugh. She left an example of what we should all strive to do - find the best in every person and every situation. I...We, are all BLESSED and better off having a sentence, a paragraph or a page in her impeccable book of life!

What a fine lady and a great lawyer. One of my favorite memories is that Dianna is the first person to hire me as a consultant on a case when I left the bench in October 2009. After having been a judge for 31 years, I was concerned that I would not have a professional presence once I took off the robe. But within days of my retirement, I received a call from Dianna and we enjoyed months of a collaborative effort. I will never forget her smile and her steadfast strength over these last years. I share Chris' comments. I knew Diane from the time she started practicing. She was always at the top of her game. More importantly, she was a wonderful person who shared her knowledge with younger lawyers. Family Lawyers of Texas has lost one of the best ever.

I was blessed to be among a small group of family lawyers and judges that held a Thursday evening Zoom happy hour during COVID. We were from all over the state, but for years we had been members of the Legislative Committee. On that committee, we could tear each other's ideas apart, but we only grew in respect and love for each other. The Zoom gatherings enabled us to stay in close touch with Diana during that time. The night the group could finally reunite in person in the Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio was one of the most fun in my life. We had a Zoom reunion of our group a month or so ago. We knew Diana was nearing the end of her journey, but she did not show any signs of being sick. She kept that smile and her humor. There was no crying or sadness, only a celebration by old friends being together again. She is a legend in Texas family law and was a dear friend and mentor to so many.
