Diana Gilbert's Obituary
Diana Gilbert, 71, of Dallas, Texas, was born July 24, 1948 to Sheila and Talmadge Gilbert, and passed away February 10, 2020 in her home. She had a lifetime committed marriage for over 43 years. Diana was a payroll specialist accountant for 42 years, she was a business and economic graduate of East Texas State University, (now Texas A&M - Commerce). She was a member of Lakeland Hills Neighborhood Crime Watch serving as vice president for twenty years and a community advocate member of the Ferguson Road Initiative. Diana is survived by her partner, Susan Walker; sister, Allison Denise Gilbert Hudson; nephew, Jason Edward Hudson; niece, Melissa Rena Hudson Short and husband Cory Short; great-niece, Emily Short; and her two precious dogs, Jeffrey and Abby. She was preceded in death by her parents. Diana was a sweet and loving partner, sister, and aunt. She bravely fought the good fight until both the disease and treatment finally took her life. While Diana is no longer in pain, her physical living presence will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be 3:00 pm Monday, February 17, 2020 at Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
