Dee and I were roommates at UT – Austin. We knew each other before that at San Antonio College back in the 1960’s. Although we went our separate ways after she moved to Houston and then Chicago, we kept in touch for years. At one point, however, I did not hear from her anymore. After leaving several phone messages and sending unanswered birthday and Christmas cards, I felt Dee had been very ill. I didn’t know how to get in touch with her. I even called her apartment manager to verify she still lived there. My husband and I were just talking this evening and reminiscing about our younger years. I decided to begin searching for Dee again when I found her obituary. She and I spent many happy times together at UT. We poured our hearts out to each other. I am so very sorry to learn she had passed away just 2 months ago. I know she had a cousin she absolutely adored when we were in college. I am not aware of what family she had left but our sympathies go out to all of them as well as her close friends she shared many happy times with.
