Diane Elizabeth Mckenzie's Obituary
Diane Elizabeth De Shazo McKenzie died peacefully on July 24, 2023, at the age of eighty-eight in Dallas Texas.
She is survived by her sister Sidney Callahan of Hastings, New York and her three living sons James Michael McKenzie (Jane Collins McKenzie), David Allan McKenzie (Kathi), and Andrew Perry McKenzie. Her son John Arthur McKenzie (Ammie Summons) preceded her in death.
Diane had four grandchildren, Steven Kyle McKenzie, Alyssa Lynn Mujcin (Elvin), Joshua Keith McKenzie and Justin Allan McKenzie (Ashley Lunsford), and a great granddaughter Zoey Alessia McKenzie.
Diane was born in Washington DC to George Sidney and Lethama De Shazo. She attended the Holton Arms School in DC, the University of Pennsylvania Dental Hygiene School, and graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a BA in General Studies with a concentration in Art and Children.
While raising four sons she worked as an orthodontic assistant for almost 20 years before retiring and then worked as a nanny for several families.
She was a devoted member of Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas where she taught both children and adult Sunday school classes for many years and served on the library committee and in the Stephen Ministry.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 12th at 10 AM at Wilshire Baptist Church at 4316 Abrams Road Dallas TX, 75214.
