Vickrey, Dixie Richards Our beloved mom, grandmother, aunt, and friend Dixie Richards Vickrey passed away on March 8, 2010. Born in Dallas, TX on October 9, 1925 to James Patrick Richards and Eunice Kate Bradshaw Richards. Dixie was the youngest of nine brothers and sisters, who she now joins after many years apart. After the sudden death of husband H.T. Green in 1963, Dixie became an independent insurance agent and operated the family insurance business while raising her three young sons. In 1971, Dixie married Robert Vickrey, who preceded her in death in 1995. Dixie inspired many people by her strong faith in the Lord and we have comfort knowing that she is now in the care of our Father in heaven. Dixie is survived by her three sons, Karl Green and Joye of Rhome, TX; Alan Green and Bonny of Southlake, TX; Joel Green and Carol of Fort Worth, TX and step-son Paul Vickrey and Merry of Fredericksburg, TX. Dixie leaves behind six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and two great grandchildren; 3 nieces and 2 nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 11 from 6-8 p.m. at Restland. A service celebrating Dixie’s life will be held Friday, March 12 at 12:30 p.m. at Restland Memorial Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Boles Children’s Home, 7065 Love, Quinlan, TX 75474.
