Dolores Rita Rubio's Obituary
Rubio, Dolores Rita ~ Passed away on February 3, 2011 at the age of 80 in Mesquite, Texas. Born in Lordsburg, New Mexico on April 2, 1930, she was born the fourth child of six children of Edelberto Rodriquez and Aurora Yebras Rodriquez. . Dolores’ father served in the Air Force and she spent much of her early childhood years on Air Force bases located in the southwest. Her family came to Dallas, Texas in 1941 and that is where she raised her family and lived out the remainder of her life. She worked for Taylor Publishing Company in Dallas Texas where she retired in 1995 after a 35 year career in the graphics department. After retiring she spent most of her time with her grandchildren, but as they grew in age she turned her time to her interest in her love of gardening. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother Ernest Rodriquez. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Michael Reed and wife Mary, Melinda Sanchez and husband David, Robert Rubio Jr. and wife Teresa. Grand-children: Mechelle Reed, Christopher Reed and wife Amanda, Rachel Mijares and husband Armando, Gianni Rubio, David Rubio and wife Alesia , and Daniel Rubio. Great-grand-children: Ethan and Mason Reed, Anthony and Melina Mijares, Brianna and Jonathan Rubio. Sisters: Elisa Dumbaski, Minnie Petty, Amelia Palacios and brother James Rodriquez. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held between 1:00pm and 3:00 Sunday February 6th. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Monday February 7th in the Abbey Chapel, Restland Funeral Home. Services will begin at 3:00pm. To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up: A time to weep, and a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
