Dolores Lorraine Ueckert's Obituary
UECKERT, DOLORES L. Born on February 23, 1925, in Dallas, Texas, to Edwin Carl and Bertha Isaacs Ueckert. She passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010, in Allen, Texas. Dolores is survived by her daughter, Lisa Rhea Johnson; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and by numerous close friends, especially Leonard Williamson, Shirley Ballew and Sandra Scott. Preceded in death by her sister, Elaine Spurr; mother, Bertha Isaacs Ueckert; and aunt, Mollie Isaacs. She was confirmed at Temple Emanu-El in Dallas in 1940, graduated from Forest Avenue High School in Dallas in 1942, and retired from civil service in 1991. Although her eyesight was failing, she was an avid reader using the services of the Texas Talking Books Program. She loved all of the arts, especially music. She grew chrysanthemums and roses and won numerous awards for her arrangements. She also judged chrysanthemums for the Texas Oklahoma region. She believed in her faith and respected everyone’s individual beliefs. She was “Mom” or “that sweet little lady” to everyone who knew her. There will never be anyone like her again. Shalom.
