Dominic "Don" Anthony Rotondi Sr.'s Obituary
Dominic (Don) Anthony Rotondi Sr., age 91, of Dallas, Texas passed away peacefully on July 13, 2011 at Avalon Residential Care facility in Dallas. He was born on June 27,1920 in Bronx, New York to his parents, Salvatore and Assunda. Don was the youngest of 7. He married Marie Wolven in Bronx, NY on March 14, 1943. They had 1 child. He served in the Army during WWII for 4 years. He was a longtime resident of Dallas for 61 years and employed by the Dallas Times Herald as a Linotype Machinist for 23 years. Don was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church and had been a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, and volunteered at Presbyterian Hospital. He enjoyed cooking, painting, volunteering, and attending Dallas Parkinson’s meetings. Donwill be remembered by his loving wife, of 68 years, and their son, Don Rotondi, Jr. and wife Barbara, of Dallas, TX. He is also survived by sister, Anna DeSantis, Bronx, and many nieces and nephews in New York. He was preceded in death by brothers, Gerald, Jimmy, Joseph, Dalio and Willie. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation for Don from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home on Friday, July 15, 2011. Graveside services will be on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 11:00 am at Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dallas Area Parkinsonism Society, 6370 LBJ Fwy, Suite 176, Dallas, Texas 75240.
