Don Mitchell Killman's Obituary
Don Mitchell Killman, age 84, of Garland, Texas, passed away June 14, 2021 in Dallas, Texas. Don was born March 9, 1937, in Ft. Worth, Texas to Lee Mitchell and Ruby (Moore) Killman. He married Gwen Annette Thompson on January 1, 1979 in Ruidoso, New Mexico.
He is survived by his wife, Gwen Annette Thompson Killman of Garland, Texas; children, Cheryl Ann Killman Moore and husband Dan, Karen Denise Killman Callahan, and Kristi Donnell Killman Tarver; grandchildren, David M. Joesting and wife Christin, Kala Hanzlovic and husband Nathan, Jessica Followwell and husband Josh, Buddy R. Tarver, and Nathan L. Tarver; great grandchildren Ryan, Payton, Scarlett, Isabella, Annalynne, Leeahraye, Nathan, and Demond; and sister Evelyn K. Turnbow.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Ruby, and his brother, Gordon Lee Killman.
Don was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Family and lifelong friends remember him as loyal, compassionate, and fun loving. He was always ready to provide help and a good joke. He enjoyed music and shared this love through singing with his daughters, and dancing. Don worked in facilities management for Quest Medical, Inc. for over 35 years and was known as “Mr. Killman” to his extended family. Don and Gwen were longtime members of South Garland Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 10:30 a.m., with a viewing from 10:00 – 10:30 a.m., at South Garland Baptist Church in Garland, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Friday evening at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas
