Don Loudder's Obituary
LOUDDER, CARROLL ‘DON’, Don Loudder, a kind and gentle man and a deeply beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully due to complications from Alzheimer’s Disease with his family at his bedside on August 19, 2007. He was born on April 29, 1937 in Abilene, Texas to Carroll and Gladys Loudder. He graduated from Moran High School, Moran, Texas in 1955 as the Valedictorian of his class. He graduated from Cisco Junior College, Cisco, Texas in 1957 where he was the highest ranked male graduate and received his B.A. degree from North Texas State College in 1960. He was a member of the local fraternity ‘The Geezles’ and the intrafraternity council. He met his wife and soulmate, Tami, in 1964 and they were married on November 25, 1964. He was the successful owner of Don’s Tire & Service Center from 1966 – 1989. Upon selling his business, he became a store manager for Red Coleman Liquors until his retirement in 2004. His passions were snow skiing and the Dallas Cowboys. He was an active 30 year member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church of Mesquite, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carrollyn Loudder. He is survived by Tami, his loving wife of 43 years and his son, Kevin ‘Scott’ Loudder, whose devotion to his dad is unparalleled. His sister-in-law, Willa Carroll, and his niece, Courtney Carroll, also cherish his memory as do numerous family members and friends. The family wishes to extend its thanks to Dr. Randall Lane who cared for Don for many years with exceptional concern and care. Services to celebrate his life will be held at Restland Wildwood Chapel at 2 pm on Tuesday August 21 with Dr. Mark Moore and Annelda Crawford officiating. The family will receive visitors from 12 pm until the time of the service. Interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park. Pallbearers: Rusty Walker, Jim Perry, Lionel Schoen, Jim Cox, John Barton, David Vaughan, Sid Vanderburg and Don Grant. Honorary pallbearers: Fireside Sunday School Class. After years of slowly having his life diminished by a cruel and invisible disease, he is at peace. We will miss you desperately but will keep you in our hearts forever. If desired, memorials to his life may be made to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church of Mesquite, Texas or The Alzheimer’s Association.
