Don C. McCorcle's Obituary
Don Carlton McCorcle passed away on 6-14-2016. He was born and raised in Colorado City, Texas, and moved to Dallas when he married in 1953. Don was first and foremost a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He was loved beyond words and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He retired from Rockwell / Collins (Boeing) in 1992, where he was an electrical design engineer involved in the NASA space program. He had a part in designing systems for the Apollo and Gemini spacecrafts, as well as the Space Shuttle. He was a member of First Baptist Dallas and an avid fisherman. Don served as a radio operator on a B-29 combat crew, in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict (1951-53). He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy (Iglehart) McCorcle (also from Colorado City). Don is survived by his son, Matthew McCorcle of Wylie, TX; daughter, Sherry McCorcle of Dallas, TX; sisters Deanie Elliott and Betty Jo Curtis of Bellingham, WA; grandsons, Michael and Marshall of Boulder, CO; and granddaughter, Molly McCorcle of Colorado Springs, CO; as well as many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held Sunday, June 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
