Dona Marie Wright's Obituary
Dona Marie Wright, 92, of Allen, Texas, was born on November 5, 1927 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Frank A. Burdick and Elsie Kitchen Burdick. She passed away on October 26th, 2020. Dona married W.C. “Dub” Grubbs on September 11th, 1949 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. After the death of her first husband, “Dub”, a few years later she married Mathew Wright.
She will be remembered for her cooking, being a cub scout den mother, a talented seamstress. Making clothes and window coverings for friends and family. She was also a china painter, artist, and known for her generous hospitality. At church she volunteered at the church library, Women’s Missionary Union, and for many other activities.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Frank, Bob, Betty, JoAnn, Richard, Harold and Billy. Her husband, W.C. “Dub” Grubbs, and her second husband, Mathew Wright.
Dona is survived by her son, David Grubbs and daughter-in-law, Pat. Her grandchildren; Wayne Grubbs and Steven Wilson. Her great grandchildren; Lexington Wilson, Sadie Grubbs, Esmee Wilson, Ezekiel Wilson and Averi Grubbs. Also, several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020 at 10am at Restland Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held 1hr prior to the service in the Wildwood Chapel.
