Donald Baker Barnett's Obituary
Donald B. Barnett, age 82, of Azle, Texas, passed away on July 18, 2018, in Azle, Texas. He was born on March 24, 1936 to Joel and Louise Barnett, in Dallas, Texas. Donald married Barbara Shields in Dallas, Texas. He was a CPA/ Chief Financial Officer, Vice-President, and Comptroller at Communication Industries, Arthur Young, Air Touch Paging and Verizon over the span of 34 years. Donald was a Texas Relays Timer and Track Official, as well as a member of Dallas First Church of the Nazarene for 57 years, and was the Church Treasurer for more than 40 years. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan from the beginning of the organization and was a season ticket holder for over 30 years.He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Barnett; parents, Joel and Louise Barnett; son-in-law, Randy Carter and sisters, Dolores Fife and Dorothy Burns. Donald is survived by his daughter, Dawn Carter; Grandson, Joel Carter of Azle, Texas and granddaughter, Aubrey Carter of Denton, Texas. The family request that visiting hours be observed at Restland Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Sunday July 22, 2018. A graveside service for Mr. Barnett will be held at 10:00 am Monday July 23, 2018 at Restland Cemetery. A Memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm Dallas First Church-Nazarene in Desoto.
