Donald "Don" Crawford's Obituary
On Wednesday December 17, 2025, Donald “Don” Crawford passed away in his sleep. Don was born on August 12, 1941, in Yuma, Arizona to Virginia Lucille Stubblefield and
Glenn Herbert Crawford.
Don remained close to his siblings and is survived by Alfred Jensen, Raymond Crawford, Richard Crawford and his wife Beverly, and Thelma Fonnesbeck. He was very close to his late sister Helen Williams.
Don’s career was in Engineering. He resided in several states in the US spending many years working and raising his family in Southern California. Ultimately, Don had one choice to keep his job security. It meant relocating where he settled with his youngest children in Texas.
Don was a loving father, brother and grandfather. He is survived by his children; David and his wife Irene, Jan, Matthew and his wife Lee, and Ruth-Ann. Don is survived by six grandchildren; Anindita, Brandie, Brianna, Missael, Snow and Vaughn.
Don appreciated the earth’s beautiful landscapes. He went camping with his family often in a soft sided pop-up camper to the Arizona Sand Dunes, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, and Yosemite. The tents were swiftly unassembled in a moment’s notice during many rain, sand, and windstorms.
Don would travel far and wide to visit his friends and family. Don considered Carmen and her son Missael eminently part of his family, helping and spending as much time as he could with them.
Don served his country and was a proud veteran of the USA Air Force. Don was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he had many friends.
Don was passionate about working with his late friend Greg on his race cars. He was a certified scuba diver and enjoyed many underwater adventures. Don loved to travel especially on cruise ships. He enjoyed music; Hawaiian being one of his favorite genres. He was a big fan of Elvis. He loved the oldies, and went to many concerts including Johnny Mathis, Kenny G, Neil Diamond and Whitney Houston.
Don enjoyed fine dining especially when it came to celebrating his birthday with his kids. He was especially fond of Mexican food; chips, guacamole, salsa and Pepsi Cola. “Fond,” oops…that’s an understatement. He even insisted Matt needed to find Mexican food when he was visiting in Thailand. He was truly obsessed. : )
Don regularly enjoyed spending time with his retired colleagues. He almost always accepted any opportunity to join friends or family especially for his favorite meal. Don’s family is especially grateful for Gene and Chris for their weekly invitations extended to Don.
Don’s loss is felt deeply, and he will be missed greatly. To honor Don’s life, friends and family are invited to gather together for Don’s favorite cuisine on:
