Donald Eugene Knight's Obituary
Born in Birmingham, Alabama on April 10, 1931. He passed away on January 12th surrounded by his family after a short illness. A long time resident of Dallas, he is survived by his wife Jolene of fifty seven years, daughter Donna Miller of Breckenridge, CO.; and preceded in death by his son Kenny. Don graduated high school and joined the St. Louis Cardinal’s organization as young knuckle ball pitcher. He went on to serve in the Army before attending The University of Houston where he received a degree in Business Administration. Most of his first working career was spent with Rheem Manufacturing except for a short stint with Texas Instruments. His love of fishing. golf, baseball and storytelling served him well in business. He will be missed by his many customers who became lifelong friends. When most were looking at retirement options, Don began his second career and started up Packaging Alliance. Over the past 18 years he was able to build up a business that now employs over 100 people, something he was most proud of. He never did retire but that was never in the plan as he truly enjoyed what he was doing each day of his life. We will all remember this loving and caring man that made us all laugh each time we spoke with him. Please join us in remembering him on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 10:00 AM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home
