Donald Everette Gardner's Obituary
Donald E. Gardner of Garland, Texas was welcomed by his Lord and Savior on May 1, 2017. He was born in Crawfordsville, Iowa on September 15, 1931 and was preceded in death by his parents Elaine and L. Everette Gardner and sister Lavon Hahnbaum. He served his country honorably as a member of the United States Air Force for nearly 26 years and after retiring from the military, spent many years in the hardware and lumber business prior to relocating to Texas in 1990. He loved his family unconditionally and faithfully while bringing joy to so many through his dedicated service to his church, FiveStone Community and as a Caring Hearts volunteer at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Garland. He is survived by his wife Joyce of nearly 62 years, his sister Shirley Garrett of Washington, Iowa, his children Rhonda E. Rose of Logansport, Indiana; Pam Anderson and son-in- law, David Anderson of Wylie Texas; Mark Gardner and wife; Lesia of Kewanna, Indiana. Don was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren who adored their grandpa. Grandchildren include; Miesje Biggs and husband Marty; Melissa Whitworth and husband Carl, Michael Hill, Daniel Murray; Scott Powell and wife Brittany, Amanda Reynolds and Candace Girton. Great grandchildren Kelsey Smith, Hayden Hill, Alexia Sellars, Courteney Biggs, Tyler Biggs, Chase Whitworth, Andrew Sellars, Jaxson Whitworth, Kaiya Whitworth, Lillian Biggs, Adalynn Murray, Isabella Girton, Rylan Powell, Michael Hill, Gavin Hill, Dylan Hill and McKenna Hill. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 2:00 PM at FiveStone Community Church, 1600 Campbell Rd, Garland, Texas, 75040.
